- Making dreams come true -
For the past five years, Mrs. Nabila Fares has been leading Acsauvel into a new area. With her vision, inspiration, and trust – against all odds and hardship – Nabila Fares has paved the way for a fundamental transformation of Acsauvel.
This transformation into a “One House for all Generations” aims at providing a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children and adults of all ages with intellectual challenges. Acsauvel is a place that fosters personal strength, enabling friendship and promoting self-reliance. We want Acsauvel to always be a home and a partner in life for its “children”.
Acsauvel is now committed to a period of renewal and invigoration after having reached the mature age of 37 years 1979 – 2016.
We have decided to build two new floors in our establishment to provide more opportunities for our children who are under 5 years old, those who are still at the pre-school stage (early care).
Our goal is for these young children to become members of the family of Acsauvel that would provide them with the appropriate, necessary and professional care and protection.
The first new floor will contain dormitories, protected workshops, library, computer room and a fully equipped theater.
The 2nd floor will be deployed as a shelter that accommodates older people with special needs who do not have a system of continued care or support.
- In the kitchen: a group of volunteers is responsible for manufacturing of delicious pastry products that are put on sale to benefit Acsauvel.
- In the pottery workshop: volunteers manufacture, exhibit and sell their unique products for the benefit of Acsauvel.
- In the educational center: volunteers engage our children with animation and games.
Acsauvel welcomes interns to contribute to their training during their studies.
The major universities we work with are: the Lebanese University (government), Saint Joseph University (USJ) Notre Dame University (NDU), and the Holy Spirit University Kaslik (USEK).
Once a year, all of ACSAUVEL’s staff and students benefit for free from a professional examination by two doctors; a follow-up is assured when needed. This project was established thanks to the generosity of the municipal clinic of BEIT EL CHAAR.
